IAG Cargo launches summer routes including Cincinnati

For the first time ever, we’re flying freight between London and Cincinnati. But that’s not all we’ve got up our sleeves this summer…

A bustling riverfront, historic architecture, impressive art museums, creative craft ales, and celebrated chili dish, plus the birthplace of Steven Spielberg, Cincinnati in Ohio is a hidden gem, one that IAG Cargo now flies to from London. A first for the business, the new direct route will facilitate the movement of e-commerce between the UK and North America.

During the summer, our service will operate five times a week using a British Airways B787-8 aircraft, and four times a week on a 777-200 throughout the winter, when the Midwestern magic begins with ice skating at Summit Park (we’ll happily wait for that, though).

But there’s more than just skating when it comes to the Queen of the West: let’s not forget Cincy is home to America’s oldest baseball team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings (now the Cincinnati Reds),
so it’s no surprise that popular items shipped on the trade route include sporting equipment. There’s also food and drink (would a petition to start flying Graeter’s ice cream to London be a tad dramatic?), e-commerce items such as home office equipment, and high volumes of automotive parts from Southeast Asia, transferred via Europe. To support these cargo movements, we’re offering up to six lower deck pallet units per flight in each direction, so whatever comes our way, we can handle it.

Cincinnati isn’t the only route to be excited about this summer. Adding to our already thriving network that spans six continents, we’ve also resumed our much-anticipated services between China and London Heathrow: Shanghai (PVG) restarted in April, and we welcomed back Beijing (PKX) –the thankfully no longer forbidden city – at the start of the month. Our Asia expansion doesn’t end there: IAG Cargo is now running double daily services between London and Hong Kong, as well as 11 services per week between London and Tokyo.

What’s more, we’ve boosted our network between Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean for the Summer season, with a daily service from London to culture-rich Mexico and beautiful Bermuda.
Madrid is also keeping busy, soaring shipments 18 times per week to Bogota, and 11 times per week to Lima. Starting from August, the paradise that is Puerto Rico will also join the airfreight flurry, with a service six times per week (any room for us?).

One thing is certain: there’s room for your cargo thanks to our route launches and restarts around the globe. Find out more about booking your freight with us here.
